To that end, should 11 million immigrants be worried Trump is going to throw them out of the country upon taking office? According to Jamie Dimon, JPMorgan C.E.O. and chairman of the Business Roundtable, which is advising Trump on business policy the answer is no, don’t be silly.
“Look, we’re not going to kick 11 million people out. President-elect Trump is different from candidate Trump. He’s now said that if you break the law, we’re going to deport you. Of the 11 million undocumented, only 800,000 are estimated to have broken the law. By the way, that is the current policy of the United States. President Obama deported 2.8 million people for breaking the law. The BRT supports immigration. It is a pro-jobs argument.”

Another article related to what the business round group will do.

Quote:
Jamie Dimon, the chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase and one of the most influential links between Washington and Wall Street, will become chairman next year of Business Roundtable, one of the most powerful lobbying organizations in the country.
Dimon is a self-described Democrat and a member of President-elect Donald Trump's economic advisory team. He was floated as a possible pick for treasury secretary before Trump announced his intention to nominate Steven Mnuchin for the job
Quote:
John Engler, a former Republican governor of Michigan who is the president of the Roundtable, praised Dimon's focus on policies that business groups say would speed economic growth, including points of disagreement with Trump. “He's an influential voice and strong advocate for immigration reform,” Engler said, “which we still think is possible.”

So if you're not gonna deport, what are you going to do about these people?

Oh.... I'm glad we can all laugh about it now. Great joke, Trump.

Right? It' was hilarious how he spoke about splitting up families and ending birthright citizenship. Oh yeah and the wall!

I know logistically, it doesn't make sense and may not even be possible. But, forgive me if I still have trouble believing anything he or the people from his administration say. He is beholden to the ignorant masses that elected him. He has nominated Jeff Sessions and Steven Bannon, an admitted White Supremacist, continues to have his ear in a coveted senior adviser position.

This entire thing has been a mess from 11/09/16 and I just wish I could sleep off the next four years.

I never worry about his call for deporting 11 million people, it's just impossible. However, he has the power to make our lives much more difficult. He can do Arizona style enforcement, work place raid, rescind DACA and etc....

I give him major props for this though. In my opinion, he just used all this rhetoric to wake up a huge electorate to make them feel like there is someone out there who has their back and not just immigrants and rich people from big cities! Many many people from this so called silent majority are great, hard working, and not racist at all! Those people will not mind this. I feel like Trump knew all this and just had to sell all those lies in order to become President finally do whats right for EVERYONE! We should give him the benefit of the doubt here and just hold on to our seats. We are less than a month away.

I keep saying, the devil is in the details. What do they consider criminal? millions of Illegal immigrants have Driving Without a License Misdemeanors... thousands of dreamers do too. Are they going to come after these people too?

My thoughts exactly. By making immigrants lives miserable, a lot will either get caught up in raids or self deport.
