Origin of Trump's Immigration Banned Countries
It looks like the list of those countries came from the Terrorist Prevention Act of 2015.

Now those coming from those countries, or those that had visited those countries (even if they were Canadian, Australian, etc...) had to for security concerns, that's it.

Edit2: They remove the visa waiver program from those countries because they were countries of concerned. What does countries of concerned mean?
