Congressional Petition: Please Read

Hey y'all. This is really off topic, but it has to do w/lobbying Congress (which we're familiar with), so I thought I'd give it a try. Right now, there is a petition being circulated to get Congress to award tax breaks to parents and guardians of special needs children. It might not seem like a big deal, but raising a special needs child requires a lot of resources, and money is a primary one. There are loads of medical bills not always covered by insurance or third-party providers, special equipment that's needed for them to function on a daily basis, and food and medication they need to make life easier.

My little sister is special needs, and she's total care b/c she can't walk, talk, or do anything for herself. She has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, she's legally blind, and has a lot of other medical issues. Her medications run in the thousands, and w/o insurance it'd be impossible. Houston is amazing b/c of Texas Children's Hospital, and w/o the doctors and the medical care we've gotten, we'd be a lot worse off. Aside from all that, she's still an amazing kid. Different, but amazing nonetheless.
