Link? That's the link for the kid that got deported from Calexico. No info on the 10 detained. Unless I'm missing something.

You are correct sir. I missed it. It's so small haha. And if this kid was deported 2 months ago, why all the hoopla now? Did nobody know?

I think nobody made a big deal about it because he signed his deport orders right away and was deported 3 hours later. That means the whole thing flew under the radar and it must have taken his family a little bit of time to get a lawyer, and then even more time to look into the matter and then drum up some support. The other DACA beneficiaries who were detained didn't sign anything and their families reported the incident to activist organizations right away. I have left instructions for my family members that if I am ever detained, they need to contact an activist organization like CHIRLA or something and get me in the headlines. ICE seems to react to that kind of publicity when it comes to us.

10 out of 770,477 = 0.0012%

I'm not sure "targeted" is the right word here

It's at least 10 that activist groups know of. What about the others who don't have means to report their cases to UWD/NILC or even afford to get a lawyer? The number might be higher, and I think that's the point.

Nah, you quote the most fear mongering part of the article and post it in this community. It's buried in the article but you use it as part of your summary. It's almost troll like.

What's a reasonable number? 10,000? That's a lot but still only 1.2%.

The situation is already tough. It's like there's a few people here who like to spread more fear than anything else...
