from my understanding, lots of people get an email once they send in their renewal application stating that it is being process and reviewed by an officer. But i havent gotten anything yet. i sent in the application the 17th of this month. i assume it would have already got there but i dont know why i havent recieved an email.
has anyone else had this happen to them?

Correct, optional.

What did you think happened? They lost your EAD documents and erased you from their system?

If you filled out the G-1145 form then you will POSSIBLY get an email update that your case was received.

I say possibly because even though I have filled it out on each renewal the e-mail/text notifications were very unreliable. My first renewal I got a "received" text and around 10 texts at 12am on night when they got approved. On my second renewal I got the "received" texts but no "approval" texts.

Rely on their site and mailed letters more than electronic notifications.
