hahah my friend did that. I am still in community college due to financial restraints but my friend (not a dreamer) decided to cram 90 units of class into 3 quarter and 2 summer quarter. His gpa was lower but he still got a decent 3. something and got into UCLA for business major.

It's not recommended for many many reasons. Obviously if you have to go to community college, it's already a loss but trying to shorten the pain by loading up classes is tough. Unless you have alot of AP units from highschool and have been taking college courses during your senior in high school year, 90 unit isn't a walk in the park.

The stress, the number of hours u will spend in lecture, I mean it is totally possible but in my opinion totally not worth it. You don't gain anything by skipping a year, in fact that one year in community college will be a pain in the butt. Take it slow, get a part time job and ace all your classes. You will have more money saved before u go to the university and have better gpa to get into the best colleges in the state.

i've seen one person do that too, transfer in 1 year... technically it was 1.5 years... she got started immediately in summer and was taking 25+ units each term! and of course she studied her ass off and pulled almost all A's. by next fall she was in ucla... i thought i was having it good transferring in 2 years

being a dreamie, well that gives us even more, reason/time to take it slow. i mean ya u can graduate with your great degree, and unless you put it to good use, such as getting that 6 figure salary, than its better off you take it slow. college isn't high school, where u need to graduate in 4 years. dont get caught up in the hype, and all those ppl braggin what they got. truth to the matter is its hard to get a job these days, especially with the economy in a slump., do what you want, but id rather get a part time job, take it slow, and make sure that i absorb all the material, instead of rushing just so i can get into a university. i mean, the faster you finish the faster you rack up those loans. lol.

What's the rush? Unless you're somehow going to have the ability to work after you graduate from a university with your current status, you should take your time and put the most effort into getting good grades.

If you start running out of classes to take and filling up your allotment credits for transfer, just start taking foreign language classes. Those always look good on any resume and are always fun.

If you're going to go the community college route, research which classes are transferable and which are not. The way it worked out for me was that most of the classes i took at CC were requirements, but ended up being nontransferable. So at that point i was out of time and money, then again who knows, maybe it worked out for the better. But then also consider the fact that i should've already had my degree a year ago. If you really want to get this over with as soon as possible, maybe, just maybe, it can be cheaper (time wise as well) to go straight into a 4 year uni.

Another thing to think about is that some schools offer select classes only once a year. So if that class is a requirement for your major, and you transfer in on a semester that it isn't offered; again, it's going to mess up your graduation schedule for the worse. Thankfully this hasn't happened to me yet, but unfortunately i'm looking forward to taking only two or three classes a semester because they are requirements, and i simply cannot take anything else without completing them first. All because i transferred from another school. Just some food for thought...
