Republican immigration leaders on Friday huddled once more in search of an elusive deal to protect young undocumented immigrants, but several negotiators suggested the sides are no closer to an agreement following the two-hour session.

Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), the chairman of the far-right Freedom Caucus, said border security has emerged as the latest sticking point in the talks. And Rep. Jeff Denham (R-Calif.), a centrist immigration reformer, accused the conservatives of increasing their demands at the 11th hour.

"I'm disappointed that more issues continue to get added when we're trying to close out," Denham said.

The California Republican suggested the sides are too far apart to reach a deal by the June 12 deadline a number of the centrists are eying.

Then the discharge petition moves forward, and the moderates make the far right cringe. Good.

Lol you know what. Usually R leadership will crave to FC at the last minute. I don’t know man.

Likely that the discharge petition will be futile in getting legislative results, but who knows.

But hey, we can still renew our daca for now. Have you renewed yours?

Dude, stuck in processing. I did bio in Jan. Expiring in March 2019. But I don’t get why others in similar timeline have gotten theirs already.

You should be fine. Stay on top of it. Mine expires April 2019, and I haven't sent my renewal yet. I am trying to maximize my renewal.

And, if I don't get a renewal, fuck it. I will take one for the team. After all, ,we need the urgency back, don't we?
