I don't post much but this just makes me so sick, this happens at Hospitals.

that is unethical and most definitely cannot be legal. makes me think twice about setting foot in a hospital.

I don't know about ethics but it makes perfect sense and I'd do it if I were in their position. I've volunteered at a hospital before and many hospitals are operating deep in the red. The fiscally sound hospitals are ones that break even or are barely in the red. Most hospitals are operating at severe losses. It becomes a game of numbers, how long can hospitals survive by providing free care to the uninsured??

Ethically, this may sound wrong but practically it makes sense. Its just cold, hard mathematics. If the hospitals are forced to close down, then it becomes a problem for everyone, the insured and uninsured and the entire community.

I say, don't be appalled by this. Be appalled by the states and regulations that don't provide insurance to undocumented immigrants. Lets change the fundamental problems and give health insurance to the undocumented. If it has to be for a nominal fee, then so be it.
