Sens. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) and Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.) reintroduced long-stalled legislation Tuesday to create a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children.

It would be ironic if relief is granted under this administration.

It's not ironic. This is the best moves republicans can make as the hispanic population is the biggest minority population that votes for republicans.

Without anything positive for republicans to point to for 2020, it would hurt them badly.

Thise who voted for Rs do not want to protect DACA. They voted for Trump. Aka A huge amount of cuban and huge number of American-Hispanics.

The political climate will never be right to pass Dream Act.

Got a democratic president, majority in house and close to super majority in Senate - sorry, there is a recession.

Obama got reelected, GOP make it a point to oppose everything Obama - no compromise.

GOP control house and senate while dem control the white house - grid lock.

Anti-immigration president get elected, along with GOP taking control of the house and senate - don't want to pass Dream Act since they just kick democrat's ass by being anti-immigration.

Dem take control of the house again - grid lock.

In the pass 10 years, the dynamic of different branches of the government swing from left to right and Dream Act never pass when the left was in control, or when GOP and Dem had split power, or when the right is in control. Dream Act doesn't fit anywhere.

Still, I appreciate senator Durbin and Graham's effort.

Legalization of ANY SORT is going to happen ONLY under Trump Admin. Give that to you in writing on a gold sheet of paper.

With the wall settled down, there will be no more immigration talk. No one cares if the border is open or not honestly. Only a minority of immigrants care.

Agreed...
Only great time for CIR was during Bush's term... and we all know what happened then.
Although, I do have believe something will happen in the next 5 years..
