Let me explain...
I have a counselor here in Southern California who claims the Dream Act in California will become a law, and that I should plan my education factoring that in.
Is it plausible or his he just giving me false hopes.

maybe plausible but no one really knows. Arnold has vetoed it many times and still might veto it. However, some speculate that since this one doesn't draw money from the state funds that he might pass. If you ask me he won't pass it, the steroid pumped bastard doesn't wanna do anything for the immigrants.

plan two different academical outline, one if it passes, one if it doesn't. It should be similar for the most part right? I mean if it doesn't pass you just have to take it slower and work part time. I am in cali too, if this passes it would help me a ton too, I might actually get a bachelors of it passes.

It's plausible-ish.

I'm with Geronimo on this one, plan for the best and the worst.
Looks like we're all in Cali. :]]

This is what I don't understand.
Wasn't Arnold himself an immigrant from Austria??

yep... on like athlete visa or student? But I remember from another DAP member's post that he broke some immigration laws. During his student or athlete visa he wasn't suppose to work but he did work under the table... Talk about forgetting where you come from... He's probably more worried about his reputation as a politician than anything else, politicians are all the same, even obama.

I read a quote on when Arnold decided to become a republican.
He was listening to a debate between Nixon and his campaign opponent.
Guess he liked Nixon's words better.

It's ridiculous the way he looks at immigrants.
Has he been called out on it?

There's no way the California Dream Act will pass with Arnold in office.

I just hope there is a deadline, I don't know much about political systems. Will the state legislature decide on this before a certain time line? Because this is like waiting to be stabbed right in the heart... lingering false hope...

I don't think that's up to him to just overturn AB540... It isn't that he discriminates us, he just doesn't do a jack squat for us, he hasn't passed any bill in our favor.

Cuz he can't overturn it himself. He'd need the California legislature to pass a bill that overturns the law. AB540 is a law, not an executive order.Such a bill would never pass the California Legislature.

It has been tried. There are several bills that have been introduced by Republican members of the legislature, but there has been no movement on these bills.
