The fact that everyone in your family is either a GC holder or a US citizen and you’re the only one without it

You know what’s more depressing? When most of your immediate family isn’t GC holder or citizen and you worry more about them instead of being happy that at least they are taken care of and you are the only one left.

Well I have been a victim of something that I had no say or control over

My parents and I had a green card petition pending in 2001 and the lawyer told my parents to withdraw from it as it won’t get approved due to 9/11 . My life would have been different if it wasn’t for 9/11

My parents later got it through my USC brother.

I also had a GC petition through my ex wife but was forced to withdraw from it out of fear it wouldn’t get approved. I also have a 7 year old daughter which is one of the many reasons why I didn’t leave this country

I was in the same shoes but I was never depressed. The fact that you live in USA. Would you rather be in your ‘’home’ country? Don’t you have DACA? I never did. DACA holders have all the freedom just like a USC does except they can’t go outside of USA unless you get AP and many have.

If it was on or before 4/30/01 then that’s under 245i. Not sure why one would withdraw? You just had to pay $1k and both could have gotten GC then. 9/11 had nothing to do with it. However, a month before Dream Act was introduced and it was bound to pass and that never happened.

Has one or both of your parents filed a I-130 for you? Are you an Overstay or EWI?

So your ex-wife who was a USC filed for you and you withdraw it? Out of what fear?

Was your daughter born in USA?

My dad filed a I-130

I withdrew from it because we divorced while it was in process and chances are it wouldn’t get approved (at the recommendation of my lawyer)

My daughter was born in the USA

There was no reason to withdraw. You would have been a USC years ago.

Mmm I'm on the same boat the only difference is that I'm really happy for them and don't blame them for shit. I can't feel depressed about something good that happened to my family, it is not their fault but this county's shitty immigration laws.

You are still better off now as an undocumented.
