There is zero chance any immigration bill will pass without GOP. It will be dead on arrival at the Senate floor .
Democrats knows that . They just don’t compromise . They need to stop play political games and start serious negotiation with GOP . Personally I am against illegal immigration . I think border security + E verify exchange for immigration legalization bill is reasonable . A country needs both rule of law and compassion . As much as I dislike Trump , but he is right on some policies such as “ American first , zero tolerance and ending catch and release policy .

Senate can pass their version and it can go to committee. It gets the conversation going.

Everyone needs to understand the context of they why pushed this bill.. It was approved in the last congress and so it could be fast tracked to the floor and there was a deadline. The house does not need gop support to they passed a bill keeping it left leaning. In the senate, however, republicans will ask for a lot and for the bill to the right. When they reconcile the bill, assuming it passes the Senate, they will negotiate the differences.

If you studied what happened when Obama was in office, Dems started with a good bill, daca+border security but republicans kept asking for more and more until the bill died. This time, they are starting with a left-leaning bill and try to meet the GOP in the middle.

this is hot garbage. Zero tolerance and ending catch and release is how you end up with for-profit toddler concentration camps. Catch and release had been standard procedure way before Obama and has close to a 90% return rate. The problem has always been lack of judges to expedite asylum hearings and deportations.

E-verify is opposed by the GOP so that will never happen.

As of now, I don't see a path w/o scrapping the filibuster:
