My mom unofficially became a US citizen this morning(interview). I have an approved I-130 petition with a priority date of April 2018. In the F2B category they are processing sept 2016. In the f1 category they are processing may 2016. So F2B is running faster. All that to say now that my mom is a citizen do I have to upgrade my category or can I leave it as it is. Thanks

Your choice. When you will be doing AOS via 245(i) with USCIS (if eligible) or do DS-260 with Dept of State you will basically include a letter stating that you are declining the upgrade and wish to remain in F2B as per INA 204(k)(2).
