Driving the I-5 from LA to SD

Gonna be heading to SD for the weekend with the gf in a few weeks, was wondering if there's any checkpoints or border patrol stations I should be worried about when heading back to LA? Like the San Clemente one or others? I remember going to SD a few years back with some friends and did not encounter any issues, but just being paranoid since I'm the driver this time.

Just headed down to SD about 2 weeks ago (From OC). No checkpoint whatsoever, you are in the clear!
