Has anyone here living in Texas, applied for the homestead exemption and got it?

A house may be transferred in my names soon. (Temporarily in my names) and since the taxes are high, they suggested the homestead exemption. Just want to make sure DACA recipients qualify.

Dont see much about it online except for some Florida case.

Please let me know if you have this and are in TX.

Thanks!

I have the homestead but co-own the home with my USC husband. You should qualify I don’t even remember them asking about immigration status. Have you contacted HCAD?

I live in Texas, and yes I have the homestead exemption. There is an application below. Once the property is in your name, you should be able to qualify.

I don't see why it wouldn't. If that's the only house you have and it's your main address (you have your id mailed there, etc.) , it should go through.
