TBH sometimes I feel like our parents should have just stayed in Mexico, let us grow there, and give us the opportunity to come to this Country the right way. Suffering from your parents mistakes is wild.

you liberal entitled sacks of utter sht yall wouldnt be sht if it wasnt for them bring you here so shut yall asss up.

. your parents made a big sacrifice and this is what yall dare to fkin say. vatos tan mas llorones en serio que les den por c.lo.

utter NPC mentality at full extent when you ALL know that it had NOTHING to do with them, intelligence alphabet agencies FKED up our countries for certain interests of a certain country and our families were victims of it. my grand parents had made big until the peso collapsed in Mexico, then my parents were doing great until fkn zedillo which was an obvious puppet for a certain country fked it all up making them lose their jobs and end up in extreme poverty.

my parents went through extreme hell due to this bullsht and so did my grand parents.

my father had no option to leave his career to become a welder. my mother tried HARD to go back to school or find a stable job and couldn't she had to come work as a housekeeper here in the US to support me and my brother.

my grand mother tried hard as fk to become something and couldn't because there wasnt enough money for her to keep her culinary career going.

my grandfather had to leave his office work to work as a truck driver.

even so its YOUR responsibility to do the best YOU can with the circumstances presented to you instead of being an entitled cry baby. turn in your fkin EAD and self deport, go ahead go make it on your own a ver si muy chingones, pero bien saben que valen pura verga si no fuera por sus padres, mamones.

We were at the end of an impossible situation. But despite everything, I've had a great life so far. I don't fault them for it, and in a lot of ways I'm thankful. Sure nobody's proud of being undocumented, but the fix is easy. Have the government formally integrate us into the fabric of which we are already integrated. What would happen to a cloth if you remove fibers from it?

Coming here the right way was not an option for us. There is no option for lower class no skill. What nation wants to import poverty? How do you tell this to voters? We need people to work low pay jobs so we're just gonna import a ton of poor people and see how it all works out. No reelection.

All this would've been avoided had they sealed the border properly, and instituted a jobs program. But a select few wanted to have their cake and eat it. Meaning low pay for workers and they reap all the profit from exploiting others. And that's the crux of the problem, they want to exploit people for profits. That's the new mantra. Exploitation for profits.

It's why the cost of living always goes up because profits must always go up. It's why houses are bought by megacorps just to rent them out at the highest prices possible. Renting them out for any less is wrong for any shareholders!! It's why everything goes down in quality and up in price. And the cherry on top is the inflationary dollar. Like a thief in the night it steals away your prosperity. Dividing it across many more dollars. You can't print your way to prosperity.

Also, if you think of it. You don't know what life would've been had they stayed. It's a big box of uncertainty. And your life wouldn't of been any better. Mexico isn't easy and despite big progress some parts are horrendously poor.

I'm making big plans still. Plan on buying a house soon when the economy finally tanks, or buy stocks for pennies on the dollar setting me up for a good life. In learning luxury languages meaning languages that allow me to consume media but dont earn more money. for the fun of it. You have a deck of cards but you can still choose to play them very well and in most cases end up in a better outcome because you simply wanted it more and fought harder.

You should not blame your parents. It's like blaming people for smoking in the 50's or doing coke in the 80's. Being illegal back then was seen as something harmless and a non-problem.

More on this:

The U.S immigration system was a lot more flexible in the 80's and early 90's.
It was easier to come in illegally on a tourist visa, cross the border, get sponsored by your employer and legalize yourself.

You could even apply for a Social Security card back then with only some form of I.D.

A lot of the old timers didn't even bother trying to get legalized because they did not anticipate living in the USA for the rest of their lives. They expected to stay 5 years tops , make a bunch of $, then leave.

Why? Because they could always come back if things didn't work out.

That was the logic back then.

It was easy to leave and get back in , if you had to.

However, that stupid The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (IIRIRA) happened and went into law in 1997. It ruined everything. 3yr and 10 yr bars. EWI. Border crossing got more dangerous. It became impossible to get sponsored. Now, after that, word spread.

Every illegal that made it in would not go back - because it just got so tough to get in the usa.

Yeah, it sucks that our parents didn't fully think about us but they made their decisions with the best information that they had.
Let's not forget also that most of our parents aren't even high school grads...people who are uneducated generally struggle to make long-term decisions.
They have a present time orientation.
Plus, they are human and fallible.
They thought that if they held out long enough - there would be another big Amnesty like the one in 1986 and they didn't want to miss out. I remember vividly in the early 00's how there was still a big hope for an amnesty and it seemed possible back then. George Bush came very close.

Then 9/11 happened and immigration became even more tough.

a lot of the old timers from the 80's and the 90's tell me that when they look at immigration now, it's like Bizarro World. It's so much harder and complicated than what they experienced.
