People tell me what you heard or what you witnessed about the life in Canada, more importantly please try to answer the following question.
1. how to get a Canadian green card if you are undocumented in U.S ?
2. how to work in U.S with Canadian green card ?
3. how can you make the adjustment from Canadian green card to U.S green card ?

thank you all and have a wonderful and safe thanksgiving.

1) either by family petition or work visa. but then they go by point system, and one major requirement is work experience...so unless you have experience in your field its really hard to immigrate there. OR i have heard of people who were able to get student visa after they got accepted to their university (you need to prove that you can pay for their college).

thank you for your reply.
I will graduate next semester and plan to get MBA right after that. so that leaves me with some where around 3 years to decide where to go or whatnot, of course in the meantime I'm pushing for DREAM.

2. Before 2003,Commonwealth Citizens with Canadian Maple leaf cards[Canada's green card equivalent] could enter the US without having a visa but because of security concerns the program has been phased out since early '03.As of now, only Canadian Citizens can get special status under NAFTA to work but if a person has ever overstayed & accrue unlawful presence in the US I am not sure if US CBP officers would allow that person inside the US again.I am not sure about this but it I read an unsubstantiated rumor that Commonwealth Citizens who were Maple leaf holders could also apply for the special visa status under NAFTA as well, but I guess they phased that out with the visa less travel into the United States as well back in early '03

3.The answer is most likely you can't if you have accrued more than 1 year of unlawful presence inside the US.Since the US & Canada have their own respective immigration rules it is highly improbable that anyone would be able to return to the US,even if they did acquire Canadian citizenship.

No problem,If you mean going to Canada I'd suggest the High-skilled immigration route, especially if you can get an HRDC[Human Resources Development Canada] confirmed permanent job offer would make emigrating a LOT easier.

Please see a lawyer asap who knows and can help with immigrating to Canada instead of going by what you hear or read on these forums.

If it was THAT easy to get a visa to canada, many of us would have done that by now. Especially me with my Masters Degree.

I, for one, have just filed for law school in Canada. Depending on acceptance and what I hear from schools here plus the status of Dream, I will pursue it, but I know it would be better to do it after getting a voluntary departure from here.

There are many ways of emigrating to Canada but I'm just mentioning the quickest route to their form of Permanent residency & getting a permanent job offer that has been identified by the government of Canada to be in need of foreign labor would obviously make it easier.I highly suggest that you do your own research on Canadian immigration laws to get a better sense of what personal obstacles you might encounter if you are determined to take this route not to mention talking to a qualified Canadian representative that knows the laws there.

On the "visa immediately" idea that is an absolute NO,some countries have visa-less travel to Canada but you still have to prove that you won't be a burden to the social system or take a job illegally there. Most if not all Commonwealth countries can stay for up to 6 months in Canada legally but must prove that they have the funds to support themselves,if not CIC will usually turn the person away.
