That's how I feel right now. My father's DL has been suspended for 4 months for some really weird violation that he wasn't informed of, nor did it ever happen (we're contacting a lawyer though). He's the provider of me and my mom (he drives a cab), our rent is due tomorrow. We don't really have any money saved (especially because no one wants to ride a cab because of the recession). My tuition is due for the spring semester and I don't have much. I just hope my dad can fix his license, because for the past 15 years, his driving has put food on the table and given us shelter. My mom is literally feeling sick because she's so worried about the bills. My parents are getting old and they can't do a lot of manual labor. Me and my mom have been really thankful that he's been able to drive. I have a few means of cash, but only enough to pay for some of my tuition, and to get around. I feel like the quality of my life is about to get really bad if nothing changes soon. For the lack of better words, i'm really fucking scared of my family's well being. I just had to vent, sorry if I made anyone feel upset.

i know how you feel...my dad is also the only source of income in our household...without him and his license (from another state, so it can be a problem sometimes) we would be NOTHING. Not where i live in at least.
His job also depends heavily on driving, and hes had numerous encounters with the police that scared us shitless...

I hope everything gets straightened out...i mean it sounds fishy that he got charged with a violation he wasnt even informed of...

hmm... I feel the same way.

My parent's debts are well over 100,000 dollar. We've reached a point where we can't borrow anymore. They stretched themselves out to pay for my sister's tuition in UC Irvine. I told her to go to community college first but she wouldn't listen... My dad does physical labor and he has become so frail after doing it for ten years. My mom has been serving tables and she's getting too old for it. If dream doesn't pass I wouldn't have any means to support my parents. We really really need Dream to pass... not just for our sakes but for our parents so we can take care of them. Good things happens to good people. We are trying to do good to our parents, I am sure God will provide a way for us to help our parents.

I didn't write before because I didn't know what to say...keep your chin up?

There are times where you don't have the right words. Well, after a long time I came up with something that might make you feel better. We used to have a citizenship program and I used to translate (yes, the undocumented one helped people to become citizens). Well, there was a guy that was a taxi driver and his DL got suspended for a DUI. He got a lawyer and he got his LD back. He was worried because he didn't knew if he needed to put on his application because he went to the DMV and the court and he had no record. This was in California.

In conclusion, if this guy was suspended for being drunk, I have faith that your dad who is guilt-free is going to be alright. Worry but do not let this take a hold of your whole life.

Take Care
