I went to my Bank Capital One and asked the rep to send on my behalf a request for a Credit Card, a Secured one if necessary as I heard those are easier to get.

Its been like 3 weeks now and I have no confirmation via email or mailbox that I have been approved or declined.

If I am declined does my request just disappear into oblivion with no response from the Credit Card issuer? Anyone have experience with first time Credit Card users?

I hope it wasn't snatched and now being used by unscrupulous invididual(s).

Should I take the time to visit my bank rep just for this one question?

I was kinda hoping I would at least get a very limited Credit Card at least...may have to try again maybe somewhere else? I dunno...

When I applied with Capital One it took a while for them to get back to me, and they said it was because they had to verify everything because I applied with an ITIN. You can go in to the bank or just call customer service and tell them you would like to know the status of your application. They're usually really helpful.
Good luck!

I honestly think you should build your bank account and wait to get offers....I'm not 100% sure but i think continuously applying for credit cards and getting declined can hurt you. Honestly since 2009 (i made my bank account 200 the credit card mail DOES NOT STOP. From Amex to discover to whatever...i get atleast 3 offers a month. I personally use Amex (even though theyre always trying to get me to upgrade) and Visa.

Alright, I will chill out on the Credit Card thing for now...hopefully later on I get approved on my request or I get actual offers in the mail.

Thanks for the tips.
