To those that applied for the first time a couple months ago (me included), do you think that we'll get approved by March 5th? I've been seeing how it takes from 6-10 months...and by then it would be too late (if a permanent solution isn't achieved).

Sigh. :/

why did it take you so long to apply? You could have applied when you were underage.

You don't need to be approved by March 5th as initial applicant. That deadline has to do with the cutoff for DACA renewals. Assuming you do qualify for DACA and sent in all the required documentation, you will be approved (and this can happen after March 5th).

You and I are in a super similar situation. I am also 19 and applied for the first time in July. I did my biometrics the 23rd of August so two weeks before the rescission of DACA. I called up my lawyer and she said that my application should still go through according to the memo and that although she expects me to be accepted within two months, that even if it takes longer, not to worry about the March 5th deadline as it only applies to renewals.

Go ahead and contact Ombudsmen if you're past 120 days of applying. Worked for me!

Good luck and praying for everyone!

Any news about your application? I just sent in my husbands first application on August 4, did biometrics on August 28 but have not heard anymore.

Does the time start from your Biometrics or the day you sent the initial application?

My Bio was done in Sep 8th 2017
They received my application in Aug 4th 2017

The assumption is that any initial application submitted before September 5, 2017 will be grandfathered in, and any renewal submitted before October 5, 2017 will be also processed as normal.
