Department Store Credit Cards

Has any of you applied for department store credit cards like Macy's JC Penney, sears etc? I was wondering if you have and if you did, were you able to get the credit card?

I'm not sure if it's possible. I worked at Sears a few years ago, and we used their SSN and Driver's License to apply on the computer. Right away, it would approve or deny the application. I didn't know about ITIN then, but I know I tried applying for customers before, and it didn't work. I figure they were using a fake SSN, but I don't know.
I had a guy walk (more like run) out on me during an application after I told him that I was going to put in the SSN and DL he gave me. I think his documents were fake.

I guess you can try with your ITIN and a valid ID. I never have.

I asked my aunt who is not legal and she said she got a sears credit card and a Macy's one. She said that her husband had to show his DL, and ITIN in order to get it. and since she's in the account too, she had to just show an ID. SO yeah, you can get one if you have ITIN and ID.

Is that you in your avvy?

I have a few Department Store Cards (Barney's, Bergdorf Goodman..) and I got them with my ITIN and ID.

It doesn't hurt to try, I guess.

I've never tried to get a credit card. There were times I wanted to but since I didn't really "need' one, I decided not to opt for one. Also, I was afraid of running to guitar center to buy a synthesizer, or worse, to get a lap dance from a cheesy strip joint j/k.
