today, in korean portal sites, I read a lot of news that

the CIR or the piece meal plan will pass soon...

but i read it on the news that we have to attain a new kind of visa that

they will be making..

and so i was wondering how much it will cost us to be legalized..

i hope it doesn't cost us too much cuz i am very poor..

i am sure that you guys wouldn't know the exact amount but i was just

wondering about the estimated amount..

and do we have to have a lawyer ? i hope not cuz they cost toooo much..

There are always probono lawyers at non-profit organizations like Catholic Charities, etc. Of course, I'd prefer to hire a private lawyer for this issue if I had the funds.

In terms of how much legalization can cost, I really don't know...

Unfortunately, no one knows for sure how much the GC would cost, but we have to pay the fine and I think it costs about $1500 per person. I think GC cost would be on top of that so we would have to pay more.

I just wish they will accept payment plans.....I mean if we haven't been allowed to work, how are we supposed to pay off the fines and fees upfront?

and even if you have a crappy credit score, you might be able to beg your friends and family and strangers for some lose change.

I heard that the bums that are actually good at what they do could easily make up to 75k per year...tax free obviously. (i'd be LMAO if I find out they actually file taxes and specify that as their profession).

Jokes aside, whatever the cost for the GC, it should be very much worth it to explore any means to acquire the necessary funds (legitimately of course, no stripping, robbing banks and mugging bums).

Actually, I doubt the cost of the GC will be a major concern compared to the potential $1500 fine.

Question: aren't we allowed to open a bank acc. @ BoA? You think they'll loan us money for when DA gets passed?
I'm just looking into possibilities...haven't really applied for an account myself but I read in this thread somewhere that its possible.

dude... Korean news/ sites are complete crap of a resource. They predict/ assume/ guess that an immigration piece meal will pass every year. They often report things inaccurately and make it sound much more positive than it actually is, I wouldn't bother reading them period.

as for the cost... lol. Just worry about it passing. I would go beg for money if I have to in order to pay for the green card fee. That is the LEAST of our worries my friend.

Money is no object. There are plenty of ways to get money, and I'm sure they'll offer payment plans since they know what kinds of job situation we would be in.

So what if you have to take cuts out of your paychecks for half a year or more?
The important thing is that you GET A GREEN CARD.
Everything else will come together.
