Hi guys,
I was wondering how many of you have taken the GRE and are in grad school at the moment? And what did you write as far as your Status on the application?

I can't help you on this one since my school accepted me without a GRE score since my college GPA was 3.9. All I had to do was fill in a two-page application and I was accepted with a partial scholarship, which would have been a full-ride for permanent residents but I was paying an out-of-state tuition.

i took it last month. Did poorly because I studied nothing but was good enough for my college of choice. As far as the application you mean GRE or college? For GRE you need a passport or matricula as ID (given at mexican consulate (if you are mexican) for 70 bones and it's ready in about 2 hours) and you take it as a foreigner in the US.

for college I registered as resident because that's how texas rolls (did cause some confusion at admissions so check for your college)

well it asked alot of questions about your status, and I read online that if you are taking it outside the country of your citizenship you must provide other type of ID, and it says it must be a valid passport? Here is the link:

This was on the email they sent me after I registered...

If testing OUTSIDE your country of citizenship, YOU MUST PRESENT YOUR PASSPORT as your primary ID document.

They do not take matriculas for the GRE in CA. I tried it and I had to re-schedule. The easiest ID to get is your country's passport.

Yo Chessmaster I'm always calling you out lol.

Ayy I'm sending my application to UCLA this November and I think I can use the GRE to really make my application shine. What did you use to study for the GRE? It's my understanding that they offer it every month of the year, right? How did you sign up for it?

Not only the easiest ID, the only ID we can use.

I bought one GRE book, and then took out a bunch of books from the library to use for extra practice tests. You can sign-up for it online.
