Although Obama did not outline a specific timeline for the bill, the Dream Act is part of a larger, comprehensive immigration reform plan proposed by Democrats and the Obama administration. The Act’s supporters have not yet indicated whether they will incorporate it into the overall immigration reform legislation or attempt to pass the act separately, The Chronicle reported. Critics of the Dream Act claim that it will encroach upon educational opportunities for legal citizens, according to The Chronicle.

RIFA vs Dream Movement

This is what Ali Noorani said:

Do you think Congress is going to vote on DREAM this year?
8:47pmAli

i certainly hope so! everyone is doing amazing work pushing Congress on the DREAM Act.

I hear that we only have until August? After that, the chances are very low for it to be voted on...until maybe lameduck?

I just want to say I appreciate your efforts very much on behalf of the immigrant community.
8:51pmAli

Thank you for the kind words. There are so many people doing incredible work, it is just an honor to know a few of them! One thing I've learned is not to trust anything I "hear" regarding Congress. The one and only thing we control is our ability to pressure Congress to act. When they feel enough pressure to act, they will move DREAM. Could be next week, could be October. We just never know until they say, "Let's do this." Thank you for all you are doing. Take care. Ali

I recently wrote on this:

It appears the white house isn't blocking moving the DREAM Act on its own.
