nah dude. GOP aren't dumb. They'll pass the tax cut extension. The only debate here is extension for people making over $250,000 weather it be 2 yrs, 3yrs, or more.

This is one thing in which stalling does not bode well for them. If they don't resolve the tax cuts by year's end they'll be dealing with millions of angry people come tax season.

I hope you are right, but really the argument that the republicans keep on making for keeping tax cuts for the rich is so flimsy, so weak.

It just gives me the feeling that their purpose for doing this is to paint the perception that a democratic controlled government is a slow and inefficient government, despite the fact that the GOP are the ones to blame for the slow pace. They just want to really give bad rep to the democrats in order to ensure they win future elections, and what's worrying is that the way things are going and the dumbing down of voters that are not willing to research what they vote for but only make guesses as to what they think is the right path might ensure in the future more republicans win.

That and if they keep on pandering to the rich people then just like this election the next one may have republicans getting 10 to 1 contributions at least. They need to restore the way elections where done in the past, where you have strict limitations on what you may receive and spend and every donor is known.

Otherwise, a billionare could easily spend 20 million backing a candidate that in turn gives him a nice tax cut of 30 or 50 million.

/rant

At the very least Reid placed the voting for Saturday, that way other bills come in early and he appears as someone that is bringing the vote on a day when they usually don't work because its very important.

Come next year Nancy Pelosy is going to grab the Republican play book of no no no. It should work well for her come 2012. Harry Ried will kill anything coming from the house his version of no no no.

Come next year the Repubs will have the responsibility of governing. If the country goes in a bad direction the Dems will blame the GOP and get away with it. The tables will turn!!!!

Unbelieveable that the GOP is doing all this for tax cuts for 2-3% of Americans.
