Hi guys,
I had a question. My friend has been living in WA state for over 10 years. Went to elementary school and has graduated and is attending a community college now. He's an illegal immigrant and he hasn't been able to get a Driver's License. But I read in the past posts that WA state is one of the states where the illegals can get DL??? He said he has tried before and they asked him a lot of questions like if he has a passport, and what kind of visa status he's in, and if he can bring passports. He took in his high school diploma, translated and notarized birth certificate, and school ID, and some mails that came to his name which shows his current address. But they disregarded all that and asked him for a passport or a ssn. Is there any way where he can get a driver's license in WA state??

O, and another question. I read about the 'selective service' in one of the past posts. Can anyone explain more about what that is???

i live in ga and i got a drivers license from wa. I paid total $3000 to a broker including the airplane ticket ( I am not sure if it is possible to get on a airplain now) , and what he did was that he included my name in an apartment, and i think there was several people included. Then he purchased internet service, phone service, etc so that i would have two or three kinds of bills (i cant remember exactly how many) that proves that i live in WA. Then 5 documents needed to prove who you are. I remember I brought my passport, scool ID, school grade reports, school year books, school diploma, birth certificate written in English and a WA liquor licnese. The broker took me to a place to get a liquor license. its price was like $20, and it is possible to get a WA liquor license for illegals, and you can use it as an ID. one or two of the docuemts were useless, but I still had five, so try to take everything you can. Thats all i can remember.
after several weeks, the broker called (I was in GA at that time) and told me that my permit came out. So I went back to WA and finally got it!!
I failed the permit two times, but I could retake it right next day. Once they had my information, i did not have to re-prove who i am. but i did not fail the driving test. I think it takes about a week to retake the driving test. The broker provided me a car from a girl, and i had to show her car insurance card.

so basically, everything will be delivered to the address you provided, so you either need your own apartment or a broker.
once you get the WA license, you can get a car insurence from other states.

Mine expires in 2012, and i got pulled over 3 times total.
I did not yield before the yield sign, accidently ignored the traffic sign, and I entered park after its working hour.
When I got pulled over by ignoring the traffic light, i did not have the liscense with me at that time. I was freakin scared, but i tried to appear very smily and nice and coorperative, the police said, " i should be taking you to jail but i will not do that". he asked me why is your phone number GA when ur license is WA? so i said all of my family and friends are in GA and it does not cost me extra money. He said i think your just gonna stay in GA forever, so I said my mom came from Korea to visit my sister and she lives in GA, so i came to GA!
so just got two tickets. I even went to the court, and i rather happened not to pay the tickets.

I think as long as you go to jail by serious speeding or DUI, ur gonna be ok.

Briefly I think the selective service is something we must all sign up for to be considered of "good moral character" what it is is a form that could find online, specifically for males from a certain age group. i think 18 - 24, that are willing to get listed in case of a military draft. i think that's how it works
