My family is moving back to mexico within a year and I really need advice, I want to stay here see if the dream act eventually passes while Im still in college, the problem is I don't have any family or very close friends who I could stay with once my family left, so for any other dreamers out there who have moved out or live on their own I want to know if it really works out living on your own with the situation that we have or if I should just move back to Mexico with my parents.

Lol well I want to but I also don't want to leave and have the dream act pass as soon as I left or something.
It would feel like a bitch if that happened.

I wouldn't go back--not even if I lacked the income. Bad pay, insufficient work, and poor security are the things that currently make Mexico horrible. I think you're better off in the US as undocumented than to return to Mexico. I have family members who deeply regret returning to Mexico. They have not had a stable job in over a year.

What part of Mexico did they go back to? My family in Mexico lives in the state of Mexico and in el DF. Some of my relatives there live in the crappy parts while I think my uncle who is a lawyer there lives in a nice area not sure exactly where tho. Thats what scared of though, going back and regretting it. My plan for now is just finding a job and people go I can room with to stay here.

Some of my relatives moved back to a pueblo in Jalisco. Some parts of Mexico are nice, but security is still an issue. Either you are worried about getting a job in a pretty secure part in Mexico, or you worry about your security in a metropolitan area that has SOME work. For example, people get kidnapped for even relatively small amounts of money (e.g. $500-$1,000). I am proud to be Mexican but the country has serious issues that won't get resolved any time soon. Although complicated and stressful, undocumented life in the US is better than legal life in Mexico. That's my point of view.

Just stay here, ask around for help (e.g. churches). If you move back to Mexico and some chance of legalization comes up, you will indeed feel way much worse than when the DREAM Act was filibustered in December--trust me.
