So..went to the dentist and found out I got plenty of cavities and one of them might require root canal therapy. Most likely I'll get the cavities filled free of charge because the dentist is being evaluated for some board certification. But I'm going to have to find a solution to the root canal. Anyone else here had experience with getting dental care in the past without insurance? Whats the best way forward from here? You think it would be cheaper at any dental school?

No. Dental plans have been very popular in the past decade or so. Just call them and see whats the best deal for you.

Thx guys. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have the root canal done at a dental school. Will find out if there is some sort of payment plan. Regarding the fillings, they're going to cost me $36 each at a local dental clinic. That is just amazing because we are charged according to our income levels. Its by no means a "cheap" filling because the clinic I go to is very well funded and of top quality. If any of you have any dental or medical issues, definitely check out clinics around your area.
