They become close minded to any alternatives that are actually quite similar to the DREAM Act. (Rubios DA)

You want to be a citizen?
Simple

Get married

I'm sure you all would get married to a USC at some point in life. I don't see the point of our opposition to this proposal unless you are a flaming homosexual. ( I am sure prop 8 would pass down the road)

We would get some type of visa to work, study, travel. I mean what else could you ask for. It's a RELIEF and an OPPORTUNITY to finally make our DREAMs come true

Getting the right to vote is a joke. It only makes a certain person richer than the other.

We all need to unite and rally behind this compromise bill and let Durbin and Reid know this. THEY ARE CITIZENS and they CAN wait unlike us. They might be angels but they don't know how it is to be illegal.

Unless you really love being illegal then you can ignore this and get on with your life...

I agree, but would it put more pressure on the democrats? Definitely.

There's just a possibility that it may pass, I mean if the Democrats really would like to legalize us then they'll support the DA no matter what version it is, if not then, it just shows that were fucked no matter which party takes over.

Will it garner a few moderate Repubs? Heck yea.

Would it deter long standing DA supporters in the senate? Maybe the fake wishy washy ones who only cares about their own party. We'll see their true colors soon.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe this bill will expose the Democrats if indeed they were using us as political tools all these years. I read an interesting article long time ago saying that it is actually the Democrats who don't want Dream Act to pass. Because those are some strong accusations from Rubio towards the Democrats. Can't wait till Romney clinches his nomination. btw I don't doubt Senator Durbin's efforts one bit. Talking about his party overall here.

Yup, 5 DEMOCRATIC senators killed the DREAM Act. I will never forget that.

I'm not blaming the whole Democrat party but still. DA would've been a law a long time ago had Obama pressured those Democrats into voting yes.

Yeah, that's what Rubio is trying to do - expose the democrats so that the GOP wins some Latino votes in November. You can't convince me that they have any genuine intention to help the dreamers.

Don't forget along with them there were a bunch of GOP senators who SUPPORTED the bill in the past and voted NAY this time. To name a few:

McCain
Kay Bailey Hutchinson
Snowe
Collins
Hatch

True, but see, we never expected republicans to be onboard with this. The Dems had enough numbers and enough Repub support to actually pass this bill.

I agree, put a ton of pressure on the Democrats so ALL OF THEM vote yes. THEN you can go ahead and get some more Repubs on your side.

I think you guys are jumping to conclusions too early. We dont know any of the provisions yet and you are speculating that we could get citizen status by marrying a USC. Lets wait and see what the details of the bill are for all we know it will be a new type of visa that will never let you become a citizen even if you do get married.
