Rubio's Bill Through Executive Order? Is it possible?

We do not yet know what exactly his proposal looks like. Someone in the forum brought up that someone had said that Obama already has the power to carry out most of the provisions that the hypothetical Rubio bill would include. I remember reading such thing also but I cannot remember the source.

Can someone back that up? Those the president have the authority to give us that sort of non-immigrant status?

I think what you may be referring to is the power that is given to the DHS. They alone can actually just start handing out visas to all the dreamers. The issue with that is if the current president of DHS OR secretary is changed they too can have the power to overturn what the previous president or secretary gave.

So theoretically speaking yes, they can give us visas, but that can change right away. I'll try to look for the source.

It is possible for the DHS.

The simple question you guys have to ask yourself is currently how is the President implementing what he wants considering the Republicans have been blocking his agenda ?

If the President wants something enough he can use an Executive Order.

Thanks a lot for your input. This at least gives hope that the president after winning election, having nothing to loose will push for something like this. I am fully convinced that Obama is actually concerned about our situation. We might not be the priority for obvious reasons, but nevertheless he is sincere when he says he supports us.

Lol. This will not be a problem. He will sweep the Elections with Democrats taking back the House and adding more seats in the Senate. 2008 all over again.
