Can't help but think Obama had planned this way back. I recall him telling dreamers to wait a bunch of times, even something to the sort of 'them working on it'. The fact that he has a hotline setup in 3 days and a timeline of 60 to have something in place tells me more. I wouldn't be surprised if the system to take the almost 1 mill. of dreamers is mostly worked out.

Someone mentioned a big order by USCIS a long time ago of some sort of documents foreshadowing something big (can't remember what was though).

Heck, even that Conservative 'journalist' who heckled him seems to me like a double agent to shift the impact of the announcement in the eyes of the media. Notice how he handled that mofo? Almost like he knew what to say to him.....

Wouldn't be the first time he pulled something like this. They handled Osama in a very similar way.

I dunno; I'd like to think that the US has a President that has seen all the angles and can outsmart the opposing team. Like some badass chess player...

Interesting and unique points. As you mentioned, the reporter's action really have shifted the focus of some of the discussion. Definitely could have been a calculated move, I think. We are now hearing discussions on how the reporter's actions give an example of how Obama has had to deal with attacks that previous white presidents have not had to deal with.

Obtaining a legal status may solve the problem for me personally. But, I personally feel that my personal problem is never solved as long as the problem is not solved for all of our undocumented people in this country. So, I will always remain undocumented spiritually, as long as there is a need to protest, and struggle, and fight against the injustices that our undocumented people are involved in this country...

I mean why would a 'reporter' of an online 'newspaper' of dubious reputation get a white house press pass?

Also notice the perfect time fram he initiated this order. He knew that if he passed this bill earlier in his term, come job numbers being dismal, republicans would blame it on the bill, and how the illegals are taking all the jobs.

Initiating it now he has a huge vote advantage and the effects won't be seen until after the election (good or bad). Genius.

if I'm not mistaken, it was the head of USCIS that had ordered a crazy amount of green cards.

Could he had been sitting on this for the last 2 yrs.

One could also say the Morton memo was a precursor to this while the kinks were sorted.

I wouldn't put it past him to be planning this for a while.

Even that Time Magazine article on Dreamers that came out this week was planned. Even CNN airing "Fixing Our Immigration Problem" on Friday Primetime was planned. This whole thing was well orchestrated, and well played.

CNN said this plan had been in the works for 3 years. I actually think this is great timing for it because both parties need the Hispanic (and immigrant community) vote. Republicans will have no choice but to support it if the want a chance at winning
