Will I need to notify immigration concerning DACA of my recent marriage? I'm getting my package ready to file for my adjustment of status. However, will I still need to let immigration know that I'm now married or should I wait until I file my complete package to adjust?

I went to SSA to change my social card with my new last name and they mentioned I have to notify immigration.

Thanks in advance.

I forget what the application asks, does it ask if you are married? Does say to add additional info?

I guess you would have to "notify" them as in you are adjusting your status but not sure for what purpose USCIS would need to know or care if you are just renewing DACA

I see what you mean, I think it's regarding my name change. I would still have to inform them? I don't know and that's why I'm asking for those who are familiar with the process.

I previously answered your questions on Immigrate2US.net.

What I'm guessing regarding updating immigration is that you'd need a new EAD with a matching name, since the social security card lists nothing aside your name and social, and as such you can't really prove it's yours if your EAD lists a different name.

You do not have to update immigration regarding change in your marital status, you could file I-765 to get a new DACA EAD with an updated name, but that's pointless given the situation. Just forget about DACA and file for AOS as a married person using your married name.

Ah, yes and thanks for always providing really helpful information! I'm going to start PMing you from now on lol This whole DACA thing has me thrown off! I just want to make sure I'm doing the right process and not screwing anything up.

Thanks a billion!
