They told me they don't have any appointments for passports until October. I'm so disheartened. *sigh*

The amount of young adults requesting their passports has affected the consulates. Usually you can just go early and get your passport the same day. It takes them about an hour or two to make them.

My parents just went to one of the consulates in Chicago and they said there were lots of young people getting passports. That would explain why you didn't get an appointment until October. It's bad enough that every time you go most of the people working there treat you like crap. Now you have to make an appointment for it lol.

It depends on how they get paid, do they get paid in pesos or dollars and what are their wages.

I definitely need to check into that. Usually, they do it outside of Houston, but dammit I am willing to go a few miles so I don't have to wait two whole months.

Tell me about it. The lady who was "helping me" gave me such an attitude. It's not my fault she hates her job.

The last time I went, the guy who helped me get my matricula consular card was super nice though. It was refreshing compared to the bitter misery the others radiate.

Damn, I called the Mexican consulate in Chicago a week ago and they gave me the appointment for August 18. Is it because there are more Mexicans there? But you could try bribing them to work faster, just like in México! LOL

Apparently, you can go without appointment as long as you are one of the first 100. I asked the lady about a special program they were doing for deferred action and she didn't tell me anything! WTF?! I probably need to wake up around 5 am or camp there. That girl seemed so distraught from being turned away.

Here's more info for my peeps who are having the same issue:
