I was going to do that for my bank statements. It will cut down on paper, but not sure if single sided is preferred for things like this.

And before anyone asks, YES I read the directions and it doesn't specify

Okay, I need to put this in the original post lest other people get at me for asking this question.

Doing double sided will cut down on the amount of paper that USCIS would have to SIFT through when doing MY APPLICATION. Instead of sending a 130 PAGES of bank statements which is ALL I HAVE because I graduated COLLEGE in 2008, I want to double side print them ALL so I send 75 pages thereby making my package more streamlined and less burdensome.

HOWEVER, I do not KNOW if this is a GOOD idea because USCIS does not state whether or not double sided copies of anything are unacceptable.

Cutting down on paper is NOT because of COSTS of printing THE PAPER. I repeat, I DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE COST OF PRINTING.

I CARE about making sure that I don't send so much paperwork that my application is one large lump of coal.

I also CALLED THE HOTLINE already and they said to talk to a lawyer which was not helpful at all.

Thank you.

Haha, I'm definitely not skimping out on anything when it comes to this application!

I'm going to do double sided then. I'll call USCIS and confirm too!

I'm just more worried about the scanner, to be quite honest.

It's not being cheap, it's to cut down the paperwork. I have statements that are 6 pages long for one month alone. I HAVE TO DO STATEMENTS since I graduated college in 2008 and only have those items in my name alone.

So 2008 - 2012 will be at least 130+ if I do every month. I cut it in half if I do double sided

And they are not going to file the documents.

They are going to scan them in a database. I'm not sure if DOUBLE SIDED which uses less paper is good or bad since it's not as if scanners/printers today can't be double sided (at least my $100 printer has that capability).

Any one with experience with immigration paperwork know?

I don't have any knowledge about it, but USCIS seems pretty good about outlining what they will not except and there is no mention about not accepting both-sided copies.Try calling the hotline perhaps?

I called the hotline and it was absolutely useless. The guy said that I needed to refer my question to a lawyer or an organization for double sided information . Everything was "refer to a lawyer". Waste of time.

USCIS did not state whether or not double sided was unacceptable OR that single sided was the ONLY method copying. I read through everything.

Is saving 2.5 cents on a copy and paying a couple of bucks more in postage going to kill you? Why even worry about this?
