I'm still rather new to this.

1.) The employer will most likely just ask for my SS# and ID correct? So do I still need to bring my Employment Authorization Card with me? That card is much lighter and more flimsier than a credit card. I don't want to risk losing it.

2.) On the I-9, for DACA, we check the box for "An alien authorized to work until (expiration date, if applicable, mm/dd/yyyy ____________. Some aliens may write "N/A" in this field." Can I leave that field blank or must I enter the expiration date of our Employment Authorization Card? I don't want the employer to think that my work permit will expire in 2 short years.

1) Bring your employment authorization card because the card itself proves your identity AND your authorization to legally work. The EAD is listed in List A of the I-9 form. Your employer will still need your SSC card though.

2) Yes. You still need to put down the expiration date. Plus note; even if your employer takes the paper version from you. They may put your info into their computer. From my experience on why you would need the card. There is a 8 or 9 digit (can't remember) number on the back of the card (not your A#). Some employers' systems will ask for that number.

So to simplfy things. Bring your EAD and SSC. You don't really need ID for the I-9.
Good luck at your new job!

It's essential that you bring all the necessary documents to present to your employer. That includes the Employment Authorization Card along with an ID and your social.

And Yes, You have to put the expiration date. You can explain to your employer that renewal is going to occur.

Good Luck on the Job hunt!

1) EAD is a group A document - document proving identity and employment authorization. You only need to show it, I'd also bring my social security card just in case the employer wants to make sure that's your number. Put it in your wallet and put your wallet in a front pocket or inner pocket of a jacket.

2) Yes you have to put the expiration date on it. Only people who can put n/a on it are people granted indefinite work authorization like refugees and asylees.
