Hello everyone,

I'm a 2003 HS graduate. I submitted my application yesterday and it's expected to be there Monday.

I had a question about question 11 of the I-765. It reads: Have you ever before applied for employment authorization from USCIS?

In my case, I answered truthfully YES. And that it was DENIED and I attached the web document pertaining to that case.

The reason was that my family was scammed in 2004 by a notario who convinced them of submitting an application and well, now I wonder if this could be somehow detrimental to my case? What do you think?

Other than that my case is clean. I have a clean record and pretty strong documentation to support my case.

Hi there,

I read that somewhere you didn't really have to put that even if you've had work permits in the past as this is a whole new process, I honestly just can't remember the source.

I have been through hell with this whole immigration process- throughout my 22 years of illegal status, I've been denied asylum, applied for many work permits and have been denied, have a final order and even been arrested twice but I'm still kickin'. However, I still checked off applying for work authorization and just attached a few notice of actions that stated I've been denied and therefore in removal proceedings.

Hope this helps!

Let me clarify - arrested by ICE once and the other by BP. No criminal records here.

It does, thank you for sharing your experience with me.

Sometimes I forget that this process is even valid for those who are currently in removal proceedings. Mine shouldn't be too complex.

Glad you're still kicking.

I wouldn't take her information as gospel. She has been sharing a lot of misinformation in her videos that can be debunked easily by reading the instructions for the forms. I highly doubt that she is doing this on purpose, but it's harmful all the same.

I can relate, we deserve this!! As for a denied work permit, don't worry about it. Just be truthful. You haven't done anything wrong.
