Do you have to be 18 yrs old to apply for DACA?

If you are a current HS senior, can you apply for DACA?

My neighbor wants me to help her fill her application, but I am not sure if a 17 yr old high school senior qualifies.

15 year old and up can apply for DACA. Unless, he or she is in a removal process then he or she can apply if he/she is less then 15.

what about for the requirement of having a HS diploma/GED?

she obviously does not have one because she hasn't graduated yet.

I'm a 17 year old High School Junior and was approved last week with no problems.
I just sent evidence proving i am enrolled in school right now.
I sent my HS Id that says for the 2012/2013 school year
A receipt for my classes fees
And my current class schedule

Hope that helps!

thanks, very helpful info.

Also I noticed from your timeline that your application was rejected. Did you get an RFE? if so, what was it for?

Yeap, that is right. Send information showing that you are currently enroll in high school and that takes care of the school requirement.

No not an RFE

Supposedly I hadn't signed the I-821 application but it already was signed.
I sent it back with my father's signature on it also because USCIS told me a parent had to sign it
if the applicant is under 18, but I don't think that was even necessary.

You need to be 16 or older to apply (which is waived if you got a deportation order).

You need to be either currently in school, or hold a hs diploma, or hold a GED, or be a honorably discharged veteran.

So yes she does qualify, she'd probably need some letter from the school that she is still enrolled in.
