Hello!

I applied for Capital One Secured MasterCard on May 14th. I haven't gotten any emails/mails from them so I called them up today to ask the status of the approval.

They told me I was rejected and that they are sending the reason through mail.

Few weeks ago, I mailed Experian(Credit Bureau) for my credit score and they sent me an email about 3 days later saying they can't find my information cause I have not established any credits (which made sense in a way).

My brother on the other hand was able to apply for Discover it for student through his invitational code that was sent from his school.

I already graduated college and I have no way to obtain that code nor apply for student cc.

Is there any other cc that I can try applying to?

I heard everyone gets accepted by Capital One Secured Mastercard and yet I got rejected for some reason. I will update on why I got rejected once I get the letter but I'm sure its cause I didn't have any credit establishments (How could I have? lol)

So let me know if anyone can lend me an advise or two.

Thank you.

Firstprogress.com will approve anyone. I have more than 6 months with it and my credit score is over 700

Thank you!
The website seems to be down for some reason.
Its not loading for me but I will look into it!
First I want to mail and check if those three major credit bureau have my information in their system.

After that, definitely will try! Thanks a lot!

Let me know if anyone else have other advises. Thank you so much for helping!

Sounds like you're a bit too desperate to get a credit card. Go to annualcreditreport.com and pull your credit report, if none of the credit bureaus can provide you with a credit report, then mail in the form, its free. What i just wrote on the previous sentence could be a sign that you just got your social and there's no way you're going to get approved for a traditional credit card because of the lack of history. Go to your local bank and apply for a secured credit card. If you don't want to do that, then i suggest you wait it out and apply for another credit card at a later time.

Also, check out creditkarma.com, If you can't even pull a creditkarma query then you're out of luck for the time being.

firstprogress.com is a secured credit card. Also You must be a resident of a US state; however, at present the program is not available in Arkansas, Iowa, New York, or Wisconsin.

Not sure if I am "too desperate" but yeah I do want to get this done asap.
I can wait a month or two if that's what it takes to get it done.

But thanks for sharing, I will check the local branches.

Just checked the creditkarma you informed me about and it gives me:

I guess I have to wait or mail the credit bureau for further instruction.

Just do what I told you...what state do you reside?

I was skeptical about firstprogress.com at first. I filled out their online application and submitted my deposit. They called me a week later to verify my address. I got my card 3 days after verifying my address. I used every month and paid every month. After 3 months, I was able to see my credit score. I noticed that they actually did report to the 3 credit agencies since first month.

I was also rejected for the capital one secured. I applied again to the same capital one card and was approved after building credit with that firstprogress card. I also applied to bank of America and was approved.

Well its a relief that I'm not alone on this case though. Glad you got approved.

Yeah dude, if creditkarma can't pull your info, that means there's no history AT ALL, which means that you have to go to a secured credit card, no way around that, GOOD LUCK
