please dont be mad at me i want to explain why i think dream act is unfair for people
for do it legally. i love immigrants but only they do it LEGALLY.

Considering the lengthy and difficult process that legal immigration to the U.S. must go
through, it is understandable that U.S. should not allow exceptions to undocumented immigrants. Many applicants often have to wait many years for a green card, and many
are turned down when the annual quota of green cards for their country has been reached. Millions of people are waiting in line and possibly suffering hardship in their
native countries in the meantime Now, dreamers want to jump in front of that line
because they claim they have much to offer america as many of them are well educated, speak excellent English and are assimilated to american culture.

dreamers think that they more worthy than other applicants and should not have to follow the same rules

i don't understand why should any illegal immigrant have priority over law- abiding
applicants in the immigration process? Granting exception to undocumented immigrants is simply unfair!!

here my suggestion to all of you. Once you employment card has expired, just go
back to your country and do it legally like everyone else. With your college degree
from U.S. , you should be able to find a good job in your country.

I have been approved for DACA but
If I look at it from your point of view then yes I agree with your views as well.
The reason I think illegal immigrants should be given priority a, lre that we are a financial burden to this country. So we need to fix that first so that immigrants here can start paying taxes get licenses, and mortgages, etc. And it's not as simple as going back to other countries and getting job. My field pays about 40% less and annually I have little interest in returning to my home country

I respect your opinion. However, I don't agree that you should come and start a thread knowing that most of the people here are for immigration. Are you doing this to get some fun out of it?

I understand and fully agree on your position. There are other aspiring immigrants out there that have been waiting for more than most of the people here and yet we get prioritized over them. I think it is unfair for other immigrants who played by the rules. You will see a lot of parent blaming responses out here but in my opinion, that factor alone doesn't change the fact that we came here illegally. I hope the USCIS fixes this and approve people in speedy but fair process, expedite those who applied sooner than those who jumped in line.

The only sympathy I have are for those who came in this country at a very young age 1-2 years old or those who have been petitioned and aged-out. Those are the people that should've been given priority not us.

Those dreamers you've mentioned who has the "I'm more worthy" mentality thankfully doesn't reflect everyone on this forum.

It's logical. I'm sure you've heard this before but if an adult has committed a crime and is accompanied by a child, the child is not charged with the crime because they did not commit the crime themselves.

Are we more worthy? I don't know, but many of us have deep roots in this country. Our friends are here, we grew up here, and many of us have contributed to our communities and to the country as a whole. Can the same be said about those living in a different country awaiting a green card?

I can respect your point of view, however, I don't think you understand the complexity of the problem. Let me explain to you just what happens to some immigrants in a specific situation and you tell me what you think would be fair.
I was brought here to the US on a visa, by my parents without my consent. Once here my father was petitioned by his employer because of his skills and the fact that NO US citizen or legal resident could fill the position he had. The work petition works in a very complex way so that before it is approved it takes months and months of investing on ads trying to find a competent applicant to fill that spot by the employer. His petition was finally approved once I turned 22 and I was no longer considered a 'child' and was left out of his adjustment. Now, do you think it's fair that I'm being sent back to the end of the line to apply as a new applicant under an unmarried daughter of a legal permanent resident? Even though I waited as long as he did as a minor? What about the fact that the quota of visas awarded each year to each country is ridiculous. For example, people with a small population get awarded the same number of visas as those larger countries with many many more petitions pending. The US needs to update its immigration system to be similar to other countries like Canada and the UK where it is based on a point system, not simply on a number of visas awarded to each country. I feel terrible for those who have to wait a lifetime to get approved, but it is not our fault as Dreamers that we were brought to the US as children and love this country.

What country are you from, original poster? From reading your post and seeing specific grammatical errors, it seems as though English might be your second language. So I'm wondering if you have a personal grudge for having to wait such a long time to come to the US? If you have indeed come to the US from another country, why did you do it? You should be able to relate to the needs of other people to want a better life for their family. Don't you think?
