Jeb Bush Immigration Book May Be Released Ahead of Schedule

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has a plan for immigration, and with a debate on how to solve the contentious issue looming just after the new Congress is sworn in next January there’s talk of moving up the release date of his book because of additional anticipated attention on the topic.

“Immigration Wars: Forging an American Solution” is based on Bush’s experience in Florida and belief that providing a path for people to become American citizens is not only an important part of the country’s habits, but is essential for its success.

“Immigration is an important part of our country’s success and, if policies are reformed, can be part of restoring and sustaining our greatness as a nation,” Bush said in a press release.

Throughout the election season, and increasingly louder since it ended, Bush has pushed for the Republican Party to moderate its views and figure out how to better reach immigrants already living in the U.S., as well as those who want to become citizens.

The book is described by Bush’s publisher as “an effort to bring coherence to a disastrous immigration policy that at once makes it difficult for newcomers to lawfully enter our country but on the other hand fails to consistently enforce the law.”

Bush and co-author Clint Bolick, a constitutional lawyer, are offering “a strategy to bridge the partisan divide and set our nation’s immigration policy on a just and rational course,” the publisher writes.
