Hi

I'm new here and I just went to my first meeting with my lawyer and I asked him to put his address because that's what my mom did when she submitted her paper work? My question is should I have them deliver everything to me directly or not? Does it matter?

Thanks

How was he/she in sending your application? I heard a few people here about t heir lawyers waiting WEEKS before actually sending it. If he sent it asap, then I don't see why not. Thats why you are paying him/her , to worry about it but keep in mind this is for your OWN benefit not his/hers.

The reason why I asked him to send it with his address is that I have gotten mail from neighbors(I live in an apartment) and some people complain their mail gets lost. And I dont want this to get lost as I heard the finger print process is a one time deal and if you miss it your done. He has taken care is my moms stuff pretty good.

He hasn't sent it yet. I will see him again Tuesday to sign some more papers. So I might still be able to change it if need be.

That happened to my brothers they went in I believe on 8/15- 8/16! When DACA had just opened and lawyer sent it in 'til mid of october! It took a few calls from me to him until he finally sent it in. :/ his excuse was that he was the only person in his lawfirm doing DACA and had to translate birthcertificates all by himself so he was really "busy". But seriously 2 months for him to sent it in! Not cool.

Bayareada.... Good luck =D hope this doesnt happen to you!

I was lucky I got help from a lawyer working for a non-profit.. We've always kept constant communication. They still messed up a lil & my application was rejected the first time. (blank field!). But they let me know right away & had it corrected & sent back asap..

They helped with some things I didn't know about, & since they've been really good at keeping in touch with me through email, we used their address.

I still asked that as soon as they got the notices, they email me the case #s. That way I can, more or less, keep track of it

Sounds like a fairly tenable idea to me, especially for a tenant living in apartments.
