applying for id and ssn with just daca letter??

Can i apply for ss and id with just the daca letter?? Or do i need the ead??

no. you need the ead and birth certificate, some ask for passport too

There have been SOME cases of people being able to applied with just approval letters. Not sure how true any of them are.

According to the SSA document, no, you can't. You have to have the EAD.

i dont have a pastport the only thing i have is a matricula birthcertificate and ead

The lady asked for my birth certificate, which I didn't bring, or a passport, which was expired. I did give her my ead and my school id which she accepted and a week later I got my ssn. It might have helped that the lady was really nice.

I post the list of documents here since some of you insist on not looking at the SSA pdf file:

Quote:
You Must Show Social Security
You must show an original document or a certified copy of one of the following as proof of your age and identity:
• Foreign birth certificate;
• Foreign passport;
• U.S. military record;
• U.S. military identification card;
• Religious record showing age or date of birth;
• U.S. driver’s license;
• U.S. state-issued identification card;
• School record showing age or date of birth;
• School identification card; or
• Copy of medical record.
Note that these documents must be presented IN ADDITION to the EAD. Also, they cannot be copies, they have to be the originals.

i just applied today for tx id and ssn so i am good all i took was ead and birthcertificate
