Question about EIN (Tax ID #)

I currently have a EIN (which my mom applied for me) but she used someone's SS#. Should I apply for a new one?

here's more additional info:
-I still live with my parents, and over the age of 18.


What's the best thing to do? (is it okay to apply for a new one? won't my name appear on the system already?

No EIN's are only issued to businesses. Are you talking about an ITIN? I'm confused here because you don't need to have a social to apply for either one...

I think I meant an ITIN.. my bad.. whatever it is you need to pay taxes..

No you don't need an ITIN anymore in fact if you've worked before you need to transfer your SS payments to your new shiny SSN. And also call IRS and terminate the ITIN. There's a thread for that.
