I have credit cards I got with a fake social security number. I've read in the past that I would need to hire a criminal defense attorney to try to get the history transferred to my new SSN. Would it be illegal if I just cancelled my cards and started fresh with a new credit history?

I had 2 credit cards with my itin (not a fake ssn) i called and told them i got a new SSN, all they asked was for proof of the NEW ssn, they never questions the old one. Then they simply updated. You can always tell them you barely realized they had the wrong one on file lol they'll simply ask for proof of the new one.

BUT to be quite honest, if i were you, considering they are linked to a fake SSN, i would just close them and forget all about them.
