Help with affidavits?

So what exactly should be in an affidavit. Should they be typed or handwritten? and do they need to be notarized? Any help would be appreciated

It could be a simple letter written by someone you know. They have to state how long they've known you, and also during what instances they have seen you inside the U.S.

Yes, it has to be notarized, unless it's from a business or school, church, etc...
