There were something like 15-20 amendments that were voted on today, and after watching the majority of them and reading some articles, it says that the killer amendments were defeated so thats good. However, Kennedy was speaking out strongly about the english as national language and that passed. I am all for it, but I hope it doesnt affect the bill in a negative way.

All the killer amendments were defeated today it seems & most likely all the rest will also be defeated tomorrow. The reason they are doing all these amendments is because the Democrats need the crucial Republican vote so Reid must have agreed with the Republicans.

In light of this new information,I expect this bill to pass cloture tomorrow in the Senate with the required 60 votes.

I am now very hopeful that this will pass the Senate. But this country does have a bicameral legislature, so when does anybody think the House will deal with it??? Don't the Democrats have a greater majority in the House than in the Senate?

They do but a lot of the New Democrats ran on "No Amnesty Platforms". Also, the same tards are still there (Rohrabacher, Tancredo, Bilbray) and they may try to screw things up for the rest of us.
