it's all about luck. it works out for some people and it doesnt for others. if nothing happens with the reform, im going to try it eventually. (not encouraging illegal behavior)

I don't think it depends on luck, but rather by wheater or not you entered the country illegally. If you entered with a visa, you have a chance, but other wise, intead of a marrige and a green card, you'll get a 10 year ban from the country.

And it also has to do with the 245i thing, if the marriage was before April 2001, you have a chance even if you entered illegally.

You're right Juang,luck has absolutely nothing to do with it.There are actually 3 types of situations in which an undocumented can actually be qualified to adjust their status while married to a U.S citizen.

1.Entering legally with a visa.

2.If you have an application under 245i with USCIS,regardless of how you entered the United States you can adjust within the country at anytime.

3.[I just learned this recently]If you entered the country WITHOUT inspection or illegally & were caught by a Border Patrol agent & subsequently paroled in the country[Catch & Release].....You can adjust within the country as well.The reason for this is because it also counts as being inspected.

Okay, let me get this straight. My mom just married my step dad last thursday. He is in the process of becoming a US citizen. She can get legalized right? and since im her daughter, once she is, I can too right?
