I just got done sending my congressman an email. I didn't want to call since i find it easier to express my self with writing then on the phone. I don't know if it will help or not but what the heck its worth a try after almost 10 months waiting for USCIS to approve me. It can't hurt me. I would say go for it.

Don't worry if they are against deferred action or for it. Mine was against it but i still wrote him an email. I didn't know what to put either. I just explained my situation and how I've been waiting over 10 months with out getting any explanation to why my case was taking so long. I asked him at the end if he could take the time to help me out and figure out why the long delay.

Hi Guys,
I had incredible help from my Senator, Kirsten Gillibrand. They were VERY helpful and were the only people that got USCIS to take my application from a pile and actual look at it. I've also just recently had them help me expedite Advance Parole. I only started getting results from my applications when her office got involved with USCIS and in my emails I told the Immigration Officers that they would be hearing from the office of Kirsten Gillibrand along with several of my community leaders. I am very lucky that Senator Gillibrand is pro DACA. Those of you that aren't so lucky, continue to seek help from your community leaders. Be the squeaky wheel and ask questions, email them, keep on them!

Most people on DAP who have tried service requests or congressional inquiries often get the same response "The application is undergoing extended review". Because of the prevalence of such inquiries, It no longer affects the processing time and it may actually lengthen the time if there are more than one (e.g you do a service request, then a congressional inquiry; realize that this raises security red flags that USCIS must resolve)

i wrote my congressman and his office talked to USCIS and said that i should hear something by mid july. after waiting almost 10 months already.

someone else on a different forum suggested writing the director of USCIS and the Acting Chief , Project Liaison Team.

I wrote both and have received emails stating they are looking into the matter.

who knows if it will help but never know.
