I'm actually wondering about this too since public school districts are tied to the gov't. And mine is hiring right now for the upcoming school year and I'm thinking of applying.

Maybe not. I think that would depend on the district since it's not a Government job like USPS, SSA office, etc.

Doesn't say anything about having to be a U.S. Citizen or PR, it just says to provide proof that you can legally work in the U.S, which you have.
