Live Scan and Background checks

What is the difference between a live scan and background check? I was asked by an employer to get a live scan since I will be working with kids. I have no criminal record whatsoever, not even a parking ticket. I've read that some people have had a tough time with background checks and I'm just wondering if I'll have the same problems even though I have no record. thanks in advance.

Its about the same background check we get from USCIS

It's been a week since they took my fingerprints, and I haven't heard anything back. Hopefully that's a good thing =/

Live scan is for criminal record check. Basically, your fingerprint will be checked against the FBI and Department of Justice databases.

"Background check" is a general term for education verification, employment history verification, criminal record check etc etc.

I did a Live Scan a couple weeks back for a tutoring job and I got a call from the tutoring coordinator 2-3 hours later saying that I had cleared the background check requirement. But I am sure if you were approved for DACA there should be no problem.
